Get ready to learn about our final Tea for this Sampler, Daily Detox! This has Holy Basil, also known as Tulsi, Spearmint, Rosehips, Lemon Myrtle, and Linden Blossoms! For this first part, we’ll be learning about Holy Basil, Spearmint, and Rosehips and all of their benefits in this tea.

Holy Basil, or Tulsi, is not like your (literal) garden variety basil, which is a sweeter type of basil, and goes on top of tomatoes, or in spaghetti sauces. This sort of basil has a spicier flavor! Holy Basil is from Southeast Asia, and has been used in India for centuries for a variety of treatments, and is foundational in Ayurvedic medicine. It’s been used there to treat the body, mind, and spirit. Holy Basil helps treat stress, gives energy boosts, and because it’s full of antioxidants, it is a great detoxer as well. It’s anti-inflammatory, which is great for arthritis, menstruation relief, or any other sort of inflammatory ills and helps strengthen your stomach lining which promotes gut health. This really is a superb herb.

The next ingredient, Spearmint, makes a delicious tea. It’s loaded with health benefits, and its sweeter flavor will contrast nicely with the spicier Holy Basil. Spearmint has been used for ages to help treat stomach upsets, pains, and to help relieve nausea. It has Vitamin A, and is commonly used to help enhance mental clarity. And it’s full of antioxidants! Just to recap on antioxidant benefits, antioxidants help reduce free radicals around your body. This sort of oxidative stress is linked to cancers, heart disease, diabetes, etc. So antioxidants help reduce your risk; this sampler is loaded with lots of antioxidant teas, so any of them will help reduce numerous issues. And Spearmint is full of them, and so are Rose Hip.

Rose Hips are absolutely phenomenal antioxidant-rich additions to any tea, but especially this one. They are quite high in Vitamin C, which helps boost your immune system, gives your white blood cells some energy and are great for when you have a cold! They also act as a mild diuretic which increases urination which helps flush out your kidneys, and remove excess toxins, fat, water, and salt. And like Holy Basil, Rose Hips have been a popular folk remedy for stomach ulcers and help strengthen your stomach lining and maintain the ideal pH. This tea-tox is loaded with great things! Stay tuned to learn about the final ingredients, Lemon Myrtle and Linden Blossom!
